The most common Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD) are Crohns Disease and Ulcerative Colitis. They are inflammatory and autoimmune conditions meaning the tissue that lines your gastrointestinal system is inflamed and your immune system is contributing to the problem. Other forms of colitis are Ischemic Colitis, Pseudo membranous Colitis, Lymphocytic Colitis, Microscopic Colitis and Collagenous Colitis and they share many similarities and only minor differences.

IBD is a complex condition requiring a complex solution.  To help you eliminate symptoms associated with Crohns/Colitis Disease we must realize there are in total, nine separate variables that may cause your symptoms:

During a flare-up you really need a bland easy to digest diet. You could eat things like

 Cereals for breakfast,  Gluten Free…example Oatmeal

  • No Fruit or foods that contain fructose
  • Sandwiches (Gluten free breads)such as egg salad, tuna, meatball subs etc,(no lunch meats) salmon, mild soups or stews without lentils and beans
